QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to successfully function in this position.

Education, Certification, & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of school and accreditation institution(s)
  • Single subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject
  • State of Kentucky Teacher Certification
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Knowledge of relevant technology

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple to complex correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to students, parent/guardians, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. These skills are necessary for the grading and evaluation process.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. General classroom environment:  Work requires standing or walking approximately 90% of the time.  The working environment is favorable to teaching. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.  Work is generally performed, but not limited to, a classroom environment.
