Red Bird Christian School students got a glimpse of the future when they attended this year’s SOAR Summit being held at Corbin Arena.
The group of mostly seniors attended the second day of the event, which included more than 100 exhibits of businesses, non-profit organizations, and colleges and universities.
“It was a great opportunity to get out and meet people I’ve never met before and interact with them,” said senior Jujuandre Bynum.

Fourteen people decided to get their first Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine dose while 39 people received vaccines for the flu, pneumonia and/or tetanus at the drive-by clinic at Red Bird Christian School.

As part of the Prosper Appalachia’s 10-week program, 27 interns, aged 16-24 are working in different areas around the Mission. Isaac Nolan has been planting, tilling and helping people with their gardens while working with Grow Appalachia. Shea Helton and Samantha Nolan have been doing proper sterilization of tools and filing paperwork in the Red Bird Dental Clinic. Others have been painting, filing and other various jobs.
